Panel Discussion and Reception:  October 7, 4-6pm.

“In the art of sculpture… it is left to the artist to make out of many things one thing, and from the smallest part of a thing an entirety”– August Rodin, Rainer Maria Rilke, 1919

The Clement C. Maxwell library will host the New England Sculptors Association exhibition which is thematically centered on the act of process.  Twenty-two artist working in traditional materials; stone and bronze, are matched with those who use tea bags, cast-off insulated cable and masking tape.  Each work in this exhibition allows for the better understanding of the creative process as an incremental series of steps of judgements that negotiate the difficult path from idea to object.
